Recruiting Talent among Returning Veterans
The Jon Davis Companies recently
hosted a “Lunch & Learn” event at their training facility in
Irving, Texas. Area HVAC professionals were invited to tour the
facility and learn how the Retail Ready programs available here
benefit them and bring more available talent to the industry
which sorely needs it. The Company has developed a one of a
kind, exclusive training program that combines classroom room
(live laboratory) training at their state of the art facility
with real world on the job training, running service and sales
calls with their instructors
The Jon Davis Companies, Inc. has
recognized that the single largest need of the HVAC industry is
skilled, trained service technicians and salespeople. The current
shortage of technicians in North America is reported to be as high
as 25,000 open positions. This number is estimated to grow to well
over 100,000 in just a few short years. When you consider this lack
of available talent, combined with limited technical training
resources, and technician development programs, it becomes obvious
why most companies simply “recycle” the same technicians and
salespeople throughout their market year after year.
The Retail READY Career Center has
been developed to put an end to this cycle, and provide a resource
for residential HVAC contractors to recruit and hire the right
person, with the right attitude and aptitude for the position. The

one of which is returning veterans from all branches of the
