Daikin Texas
Technology Park Hosts Grand Opening.
Event celebrates the resurgence of manufacturing leadership and job
creation in the United States
Daikin Texas Technology Park is privately-financed and one of the
most technologically advanced HVAC manufacturing facilities in the
country
Daikin Industries, Ltd., a world leader in the manufacturing of
indoor heating and cooling systems and refrigerants, hosted a grand
opening ceremony on Wednesday, May 24 to celebrate the Daikin Texas
Technology Park (DTTP). The company’s new state-of-the art business
campus consolidates many of the company’s HVAC (Heating,
Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) manufacturing and logistics
facilities across North America.
“The DTTP is the largest facility investment our company has made in
its 90-year history, and we believe that investing in Texas and
keeping jobs in the United States is mutually beneficial for both
our company and the economy,” said Takeshi Ebisu, president and CEO
of Goodman Global Group, Inc. “After acquiring Goodman in 2012, we
were looking for an opportunity to further demonstrate our
commitment to expanding our presence in the United States. This new
campus is our opportunity to reinforce our position as a global
leader in HVAC manufacturing, innovation and ingenuity.”
Daikin invested over $400 million to construct the facility on a 500
acre site just outside of Houston, TX. With over four-million
operational square feet available, the DTTP will support the design,
engineering and assembly of a wide array of energy-efficient heating
and cooling products for residential and commercial use, marketed
under the Daikin, Goodman® and Amana® brands.
The DTTP consolidated several production facilities in Texas and
Tennessee, including existing research and development,
manufacturing, engineering, logistics, marketing, distribution, and
sales operations, under one roof employing over 4,000 employees. The
facility is the largest tilt-wall structure in the world, according
to the Tilt-Up Concrete Association.
Investing in today for the future of the industry
With a substantial investment in new and upgraded laboratory and
high-speed manufacturing equipment, the DTTP represents one of the
largest and most technologically advanced HVAC manufacturing
facilities in the United States. The facility will enable the
company to manufacture a full range of energy-efficient ducted and
ductless residential and light commercial products in the same
facility, a first for Daikin, and assemble VRV (Variable Refrigerant
Volume) products which previously have been imported from other
Daikin business units outside of North America. Story

“Consolidating our
team and manufacturing facilities into one campus helps us
become a more collaborative, cohesive and innovative company,”
stated Ebisu. “The operational efficiencies we achieve will be
reflected in the superb quality of our high-efficiency,
energy-saving heating and cooling systems. We are excited about
the outstanding value that this move brings to our current and
future customers. We see this new business campus as a strong,
long-term commitment to our customers.”
“Daikin’s investment is a testament to why Texas continues to be
the best state for business – low taxes, reasonable regulations,
affordable quality of life, and a high-skilled workforce,” said
Texas Governor Greg Abbott. “I applaud Daikin for their
commitment to Texas and I am excited they have chosen the Lone
Star State for their new state-of-the-art facility. As Governor,
I will continue to promote policies that attract industry
leaders like Daikin to Texas, leading to more jobs and
opportunities for Texans.”
Additionally, State Senator Lois Kolkhorst (R – Dist. 18) and
State Representative Tom Oliverson (R – Dist. 130) presented
resolutions recognizing Daikin for its commitment to the Texas
economy through infrastructure investment and job creation.
Daikin Industries, Ltd. acquired Houston-based Goodman Global
Group, Inc. in 2012, and in 2015 broke ground on the DTTP. The
official grand opening ceremony commemorated Daikin’s investment
in Texas and featured an array of activities with state and
local elected officials, Daikin executives, partners and
vendors, employees and the local community.
