Maintenance Tech III, HVAC (17001066)
Position Summary:
Responsible for maintenance and service repairs on campus-wide
heating, ventilating, and air- conditioning systems. Installs and
replaces parts for existing units according to specifications and
established safety guidelines. Performs a variety of complicated
tasks relying on experience and independent judgment to plan and
carry out goals. May lead and coordinate the work of other HVAC
employees. Assists Senior Maintenance Techs and Facilities
management as needed.
Job Functions:
Directs and participates in preventive, corrective, and general
maintenance and installation of HVAC systems
Records daily maintenance activities log and produces periodic
reports
Provides advice and council to HVAC maintenance crew relative to
daily tasks
Assist other HVAC staff with the performance of their duties as
needed
Assists in annual inventory of maintenance department
Assists with preparation of Requests for Bids for facilities
enhancements and equipment/tool purchases. Compiles information from
responses to bids and makes recommendations for selection of vendors
and purchase of equipment and services
Actively follows college, state, and federal guidelines regarding
safety and helps ensure that others in the department do as well
Assists with input of the annual department budget
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
Salary:
$42,169
Required:
Associate’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience
HVAC or Type II EPA Certification
Must have valid Texas driver’s license and be eligible for insurance
coverage

Senior Maintenance Technician, HVAC - 2 openings (17000388)
Position Summary:
Perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties and manage others
in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of
heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems
and related equipment and facilities; perform preventive
maintenance and routine servicing of equipment. May lead and
coordinate work of other facilities staff.
Job Functions:
Performs and directs in preventative maintenance, corrective
maintenance, in addition to HVAC and plumbing systems and
component installations.
Troubleshoot & repair
all electrical and mechanical components for HVAC and plumbing
systems (all brands/systems).
Perform maintenance,
diagnose, repair, and rebuild 300+ ton chillers for commercial
environment.
The technician will
disassemble and reassemble commercial equipment to perform trouble
shooting, repair and preventative maintenance.
Complete work orders
using a CMMS, task lists, quotes and documents to verify work
performed as needed.
Performs preventive
and corrective maintenance on required systems.
Inspects, monitors,
repairs, maintains, and operates building mechanical and repair
motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and
switches.
Installs, maintains
and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and steam
distribution equipment and systems to optimize energy use.
Purchase materials and
review quotes on work that is over and above self-performance
capabilities/
Knowledge of
commercial construction, remodeling, preventative maintenance,
retrofitting, design and installation.
Provides startups,
installation, and quickly identifies an issue for a variety of
Commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.
Develops and maintains
job plans in CMMS to support the maintenance and repair of HVAC
equipment.
On call 24/7 for
emergency response and maybe required to assume primary call
responsibility.
Responsible for other
reasonable, related duties as assigned.
Salary:
$47,449
Required:
High School Diploma or GED and have a technical school and or
certificate At least 5 years of related HVAC/electrical maintenance
and repair in a commercial facility and 5 plus years of air cool
chiller and/or centrifugal mechanical work experience EPAA
Certification-Universal Proficiency in Word and Excel
